Projects and main research topics

  • Research on risk analysis (risk identification, modelling and assessment), impacts of climate change on forests in Europe and Central America, development of adaptive management strategies, consideration of risk and uncertainty in decision-making (e.g. robust decisions), ecological-economic modelling using process-based models, consideration of multiple ecosystem services, economic analysis of climate change, bioenergy, impacts of changing forest management strategies (transformation of forests), economics of uneven-aged forests.
  • Coordination of national and international research projects on risk analysis, adaptation strategies to climate change in Europe, in the Alpine region/pre-Alpine region (including the MOTIVE project - in the EU's 7th Research Framework Programme - 20 partners from 15 EU countries, volume - 7 million euros, as well as MANFRED in the EU Interreg Alpine Space Programme) and in Central America, green investment projects.
